It started as a seed swap and now it’s grown.
Please join us on the farm for a trade and some camaraderie.
We’ll have envelopes, pens and some bags available.

Rod’s House
This week we served our last meal of the winter season at the Rod’s House Hope Center. Nona’s rolls accompanied a batch of chicken rice soup with powdered nettle leaf.
Now we turn our attention to growing for the coming winter. Rod’s House operates all year though, and their meal train options can be found here.

Powdered nettle leaf hides nicely in soups and smoothies, adding calcium, potassium, vitamins C, K & even protein.

Rainwater Harvesting Grows in the Southwest and Beyond to Nourish Thirsty Gardens in a Hotter World
One class anyone can attend virtually is the Essential Rain Water Course, offered for free on YouTube. It is co-hosted by water harvesting authority Peter Coombes, an honorary professor at the Australian National University and managing director of the independent think tank Urban Water Cycle Solutions, and Michelle Avis, co-founder of the Canadian organization Verge Permaculture.”

Donald Trump and the Future of Human Rights
“In the short term, the threat is to democracy. But we only arrived at this place because too many Americans fail to understand or care about human rights.
Once the immediate crisis is over, we must have a reckoning. We must hold those most responsible for human rights abuses accountable and use public outreach and educational interventions to make good on the proclamation of universal rights that launched the American experiment.
Without these steps—without a post-Trump plan for transitional justice—our democracy may never again be secure.”
