Basil, Bolloso Napolitano
$2.00
Description
Bolloso Napoletano is a prized heirloom variety of sweet basil native to the Naples region of Italy. The word bolloso translates to “blistered,” describing the plant’s massive, heavily crinkled 4 to 6-inch leaves. Because of its robust flavor, it is considered one of the absolute best varieties for making traditional pesto. The large, pliable leaves can also be used like lettuce wraps or paired directly with mozzarella and tomatoes for impressive Caprese hors d’oeuvres.
