Chocolate Mint

Description

Grows about two feet tall and forms an attractive ground cover. The rounded, lance-shaped leaves are a darker green than other forms of mint. Lavender-colored flowers bloom in summer. Spreads quickly via rhizomes so grow it in a pot to keep it contained. Scent reminiscent of an Andes after-dinner chocolate mint. Dry and add to black tea or use it alone. Try pairing it with lavender for a cup of herbal tea. It also makes a great addition to sweet breads or chocolatey treats.
