Salad Burnet

$2.00

Sanguisorba minor

Description

A perennial herb primarily grown for its flavorful leaves, which are used in salads, soups, and cold drinks. The flavor is reminiscent of cucumbers, and it may be substituted for mint in many recipes. A beautiful herb that’s a lot tougher than it looks. It’s usually one of the first herbs ready in early Spring. Its preference for poor soil conditions and little water make it an good filler plant for substandard areas. Thomas Jefferson used it to help fight erosion on the slopes near his home as well as to feed his livestock. Our goats also adore it.
